Of Mice and Men was a book that was banned in certain colleges and high schools in the USA because of profanity against god and not believing. It was also banned because of offensive language, racism, violence, and being unsuited for certain age groups.
This book has been banned many places around the United States and for people younger than the high-school age should be prohibited from reading this. But I do think it is okay to read this book in a higher level age group. I read this book last year in communications, and I didn't think bad about it in any way, it's just a story, but younger kids might not think that way.
So on the point of if I think this book should be banned.. Yes I do in middle schools and younger, but when your enter high-school, I think kids know enough to read this books without taking them to seriously.
I believe that middle schools shouldn't have this book in school, and the kids shouldn't be reading this book outside of class either. So I believe 9th grae and above you would be fine with reading this book.

ReplyDeleteI think that a schools religion would play a role in deciding whether or not to ban the book. Public school's I think should have it allowed because of the mix of religion among the students. The book is not all about religion, it just has some in it. I don't think that, that little part of religion in a book should determine if it is banned. In my opinion I don't think it should be.
Religion should not play apart in banning of a boo,because it will not be fair to those who has different view and Religion. it shouldnt be base on that at all!
